Then Jacob said to Joseph, “I never thought I would see you again, but now God has let me see your children, too.” (Genesis 48:11 NLT)
This was Jacob’s testimony to the goodness of the Lord at the end of his life on earth. I think many of us can testify about the goodness of the Lord along the same line “I never thought …, but now God …”
e.g.
“I never thought my husband would ever be converted, but God saved him, and called him into the ministry, too.”
“I never thought I would be able to have a college degree, but God provided and let me get a good job, too.”
“I never thought I would ever get married, but now God has let me see my children serving the Lord faithfully.”
etc.
Commenting on this scripture, Charles Haddon Spurgeon once said: “As far as the goodness of the Lord is concerned, half of it has never been told. The Lord reserves the best till towards the end of our lives. The end of our lives will be like a party that will continue in heaven. We found the Lord becomes sweeter and sweeter than ever before. We found the Lord is greater than all our fears, better than all our hopes, grander than all our desires. The Lord is so good that in His acts of grace, He does more than we could ever ask or imagine.”
“Now glory be to God! By His mighty power at work within us, He is able to accomplish infinitely more than we would ever dare to ask or hope. May He be given glory in the church and in Christ Jesus forever and ever through endless ages. Amen.” (Ephesians 3:20 NLT)
God is good, all the time. Be thankful, and have a blessed day!

Jairus’ daughter was terminally ill. He asked Jesus for help. Because Jesus was delayed, her daughter passed away. Jairus was at a dead end. (Mark 5:21-42)
But Jesus said: “Don’t be afraid, only believe.” (Mark 5:36 TEV)
Jesus asked Jairus to trust Him, to surrender the situation to His loving care. This is what He meant when He said “only believe”.
Smith Wigglesworth used to say that we are in a great place to receive a miracle when we have no one to turn to, except the Lord.
Surrender your struggles, disappointments, despairs, and anxieties to Jesus. Trust His faithfulness. He will not let you down!

“Will the Lord always reject us? Will he never again be pleased with us? Has he stopped loving us? Does his promise no longer stand? Has God forgotten to be merciful? Has anger taken the place of his compassion?” (Psalm 77:7-9 TEV)
“This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope. It is of the LORD’s mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is Thy faithfulness. The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in Him. The LORD is good unto them that wait for Him, to the soul that seeketh Him. (Lamentations 3:21-25 KJV)
Therefore, “It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.” (Lamentations 3:26 KJV)
Have a good day!

Mr. Rowan Atkinson is a British comedian known as Mr. Bean. One day, as I was passing through a Video shop in a Mall, I noticed his poster advertising one of his new Video which says “Johnny English, he knows no fear, he knows no danger, he knows … nothing!”
Johnny English does not fear anything because he is a goof, but Christians do not fear because Jesus says:”I will be with you always… “Don’t be afraid, only believe.” (Matthew 28:20; Mark 5:36 GNB)
